Become a member of our "proton pack"

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE SOUTH DAKOTA GHOSTBUSTERS?

The South Dakota Ghostbusters are actively seeking new members to join their team in 2025 and beyond. If you're interested, carefully review the following guidelines and expectations to apply for the "Proton Pack" Rookie program.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

• Applicants MUST be 18 years or older and reside in South Dakota.
• Reliable transportation is essential, and members must attend at least two official events per year.
• Maintain proper hygiene and exhibit respectful behavior, avoiding obscenities or gestures, particularly around children.
• A Facebook or Discord account is required, as it serves as the primary communication platform for the team.

PROFESSIONALISM & MANNERISMS:

• Members should be approachable, social, and maintain a friendly attitude.
• Avoid responding to negative comments or situations and adeptly act in character.
• Discourage adult quotes from the films in inappropriate settings, especially around younger audiences.
• Uphold the group's reputation, ensuring events maintain a PG-13 essence.

PARTICIPATION & PUNCTUALITY:

• Commit to a minimum of two official events annually and possess reliable transportation.
• Maintain open communication with the group and notify in advance if unable to attend an event.
• Discuss event participation with the group before committing or representing the group.

COSTUME ACCURACY & CRITERIA:

• Strive for accuracy in costumes and props, accepting any officially published Ghostbusters lore.
• Non-canon, outside official lore, or interpretative costumes, characters, or equipment are not allowed.
• Ghostbuster costumes must adhere to specific criteria, including accurate flight suits, patches, and optional equipment. Halloween costumes are not acceptable and must be a real flightsuit.  You do not need a flightsuit to join though. Once you are accepted as a member you will be required to have an accurate suit or a character costume that meets our approval. 
• Members are encouraged to eventually acquire a proton pack or slime blower. All jumpsuits and gear have to be approved before they can be wore at an event.

If you meet these guidelines and aspire to become a member of the South Dakota Ghostbusters "Proton Pack" Rookie Program in 2025, kindly fill out the provided form. We will reach out to you via email after reviewing your information. Acceptance into the Rookie program does not automatically mean you are in the group. You will be invited to select events to interact with us to see if you are a good fit with the group. After a given amount of time if we feel you are a good fit we will offer you full group membership at which time you will then be required to pay our yearly membership due.
