The Proton Pack Rookie Program is your entry point into the South Dakota Ghostbusters, a dedicated cosplay group committed to fun and charity events. This is how you step in the right way. You’ll work at real charity events alongside the team, learn how we operate, and experience what it actually means to suit up with us before achieving full membership. Being a Ghostbuster is bigger than just the flight suit. It’s about teamwork. It’s about showing up. It’s about representing something with pride when people are watching. The Rookie Program gives you the opportunity to prove you’re serious, build your gear, and see if this crew feels like home. If it’s a fit, you move up to full membership. Simple.

The South Dakota Ghostbusters want you.
Not just anyone.
You.
The kind of person who doesn’t just watch the movie, but actively participates in charity events. The kind who builds the pack and joins a cosplay group. The kind who shows up.
We’re opening recruitment for the 2026 Proton Pack Rookie Program, and if you’ve ever wanted to be part of something bigger than a costume, this is your shot.
We don’t just put on our flight suits once a year and call it good. As a proud cosplay group representing the South Dakota Ghostbusters, we actively participate in charity events. We show up for charity events, high-five kids, and even dance to the theme song in public without shame. We raise real money for local causes and represent South Dakota with pride. When we suit up, people notice. And we take that seriously.
As a Rookie with the South Dakota Ghostbusters, you’ll:
Work real charity events alongside the team
Learn how we operate behind the scenes
Build your gear the right way
Become part of a cosplay group that has your back
You’re not standing in the corner. You’re in it.
Adults. 18+.
People who live in South Dakota and can show up at least a couple of times a year to participate in charity events.
Individuals who can act like professionals in public—clean, respectful, and no nonsense, especially around kids.
Those who understand that when you wear the uniform, as part of the South Dakota Ghostbusters cosplay group, you represent all of us.
We value teamwork, reliability, and those who take pride in what they’re a part of.

We take pride in how we look as part of the South Dakota Ghostbusters. When we show up, we look like Ghostbusters. Not “inspired by.” Not “kind of close.” The real deal, built the right way. That means proper flight suits, correct patches, and approved gear that fits established Ghostbusters lore. You don’t need everything on day one. Nobody starts fully built. But if you’re serious about joining our cosplay group, you’ll build it over time. That’s part of the fun. There’s something satisfying about putting in the work and watching your kit level up. And when someone stops, stares, and says, “Wait… that’s legit,” you’ll know exactly why we care. We welcome adults, 18+, who live in South Dakota and can show up at least a couple times a year for charity events. People who can act like professionals in public. Clean, respectful, no nonsense. If accepted, you join as a Rookie in our cosplay group.
You work select charity events with us, allowing us to see how you operate while you learn about our approach.
If it’s a fit, you’re offered full membership in the South Dakota Ghostbusters. That’s when annual dues kick in.
Simple.
Because it’s fun.
Because it’s creative.
Because it’s nostalgic.
Because it gives you something to build, something to improve, and something to be proud of.
Because 'Suit Up. Have Fun. Make a Difference.' isn’t just a line. It’s what we actually do as part of our charity events and as a dedicated cosplay group.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines thinking, 'Man, I wish I could do that…'
Now you can.
