Are the South Dakota Ghostbusters officially affiliated with Sony?
While we are not an official division of Sony, we are a fan franchise that follows Sony/Columbia Pictures' guidelines and work to promote the Ghostbusters brand through charity and community involvement. We also have an Offical Sony Franchise certificate.

How do I join the South Dakota Ghostbusters?
New members start as Rookies, going through an introductory period where they learn about the team, attend events, and prove their dedication. After showing commitment, they earn their member's patch and become full members. More information is on our Rookie page.
Do I need my own gear to join?
No! While many members build their proton packs, we can provide team gear for recruits to use at events until they acquire their own.
Can I be part of another Ghostbusters franchise and still be a member of SD
No. To protect the integrity of SDGB, members cannot be part of other competing Ghostbusters franchises in the area.
Do members have to pay dues?
Yes, annual membership dues help cover promotional materials and event logistics. These funds ensure we continue growing and making an impact in South Dakota.
What is the Ecto SD?
The Ecto SD is the South Dakota Ghostbusters’ custom-built Ghostbusters vehicle, inspired by the legendary Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters films. It features lights, sirens, and Ghostbusting gear that make it a hit at events!
Do you do actual paranormal investigations?
While we do have an interest in the paranormal, we are purely a charity organization.
