The Sioux Empire Ghostbusters want you. Not just anyone. You. The kind of person who sees a proton pack and immediately starts planning how to build one. The kind who shows up. The kind who wants to be part of something bigger than just discussing Ghostbusters online. We’re excited to announce the opening of recruitment for the 2026 Proton Pack Rookie Program. If you’ve ever wanted to join this fantastic Ghostbusters charity and be part of the crew, this is your shot.

We don’t disappear after Halloween. Our Sioux Empire Ghostbusters team actively participates in real charity events, including our Ghostbusters charity initiatives. We interact with thousands of people and help create memorable experiences for kids that last for years. Sometimes that means posing for photos, and other times it means dancing to the theme song in public with zero shame. 

We raise money for local causes and proudly represent South Dakota everywhere we go. When we suit up, we do it right, thanks to our Proton Pack Rookie Program that ensures every member is prepared. This group is built around teamwork, creativity, reliability, and actually showing up.

As a Rookie in the Proton Pack Rookie Program, you’ll: 

Work charity events, like the Ghostbusters charity, alongside the Sioux Empire Ghostbusters team. 

Learn how SDGB operates behind the scenes. 

Build your gear the right way. 

Help with booths, displays, and appearances. 

Become part of a crew that has your back.

You’re not standing in the corner.

You’re in it.

Adults, 18+ who are located in South Dakota can join the Sioux Empire Ghostbusters to actively participate in events. We seek team players who can act professionally in public and understand that wearing the uniform represents the entire group. Creative individuals who genuinely want to be involved in our Ghostbusters charity are encouraged to apply. We value a no-drama, no-ego, no-nonsense approach. We are just good people looking to build something awesome together, like our Proton Pack Rookie Program.

We care about accuracy because details matter in our Ghostbusters charity work. When we show up, we look like Ghostbusters—not 'close enough' or 'inspired by.' We are the real deal. That means proper flight suits, quality patches, screen-accurate gear, and equipment built with pride. Nobody starts fully built; that’s part of the fun, especially when you're part of the Proton Pack Rookie Program with the Sioux Empire Ghostbusters. You build your kit over time, improve it piece by piece, and level up alongside the team. There’s nothing better than rolling into an event and hearing somebody stop and say, 'Okay... that’s actually legit.' That’s the payoff.
